South Australian Holidays

Markets, islands, caves and wineries - diversity is key in South Australia.

South Australia means eclectic urban hotspots nestled in beautiful natural spaces. That’s the norm in Australia, but much like other Aussie states, South Australia is utterly unique.

Adelaide is the place for you if you’re a lover of gastronomy - it’s home to endless restaurants, pubs and cafes! Any meal at any of them will generally be accompanied by another South Australian speciality - boutique wines from the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, Coonawarra and the Adelaide Hills. These five wine-making regions are a destination in and of themselves, reminiscent of the South of France.

Adelaide is the only city in Australia that wasn’t settled for convicts. Instead, it was uniquely planned and built for free British citizens in 1836. The Central Market there houses over 200 stalls of fresh food, fish, flowers and more, having been a vibrant community hub since 1869. Designed with green spaces front-of-mind, a stroll through Adelaide is a delight for the eyes.

Outside of Adelaide, though, there’s even more green beauty. From the 80, 0000-year-old Naracoorte Caves to the shimmering salt flats of the Eyre Peninsula, the bizarrely stunning geological formations of Kangaroo Island to the aesthetic sunsets of the Flinders Ranges, South Australian naturescapes are something everybody should experience.

There’s much, much more to South Australia - but it’s time to stop reading and start planning! Whichever way you decide to explore, we will be there to help you plan an SA getaway.
